A window head is the stone which spans the aperture above a window, and a door head spans the aperture above the door. These are non-structural decorative features that enhance the visual appearance of a project. Heads can also be cast as an arch or embellished with house names, numbers and motifs to create a highly decorative and unique building feature.

Many of our single piece heads are self supporting and do not require a lintel below providing a lintel is placed directly above.
Modern installation techniques now allow heads and other cast stone items to be hung from specially made brackets. By casting channels into our stone such as an Ancon channel this can remove the requirement for the cast stone to be supported from below.
